Ask a GP provides access to New Zealand GPs for quick medical questions.

Simply type your question, attach any supporting documents, and click submit. Your question will be assigned to one of our GPs who will conduct research and send you a detailed response and attach any relevant links or documents. Please note this service is only available during business days, and the doctor will respond within 24 hours.

Ask a GP supports your treating doctor. It does not aim to replace them. If you require prescriptions or referrals you will need to visit your treating doctor.

Our GPs will also help you to identify if any of our other services can help you to manage your medical condition.

Who can use this service?

As an eligible AIA customer, you get unlimited access to this service at no additional cost

How does it work?

Once you've completed the form one of our GPs will respond to your query

    Submit your non-urgent medical questions via our portal. Ask as many questions as you need to.

  • 2 Get answers to your medical questions

    Our GP will provide a detailed written response to your questions within 24 hours. This is general medical advice only.

  • 3 Additional Support

    If appropriate, the GP will recommend you to other medical services that we provide.

You can ask our GPs any questions about your health from the comfort of your own home.

This is not an emergency service. If you are feeling unwell we advise you to contact your local emergency services (111 in NZ).
